The decision was ratified without a vote in the Dail within the past half hour. Fine Gael attempts to move the writs for three outstanding by-elections in Dublin South, Waterford and Donegal North East have been defeated.Earlier there were rowdy scenes in the Dail, when the opposition accused the Government of wasting taxpayers money by appealing the decision in order to prevent further legal challenges on other vacant seats.
