The underdogs took an early lead when a cross from Harper was controlled on his chest by Kyle Keenan who in the presence of three Rovers defenders swiveled and vollied to the net.Champions Letterkenny had waves and waves of attacks but to no avail. With 14 mins remaining, the Rovers equalised when a good shot from McPherson was parried out by Carr only to the feet of Simon McGlynn who scored with his second time of asking. Only for the saves of Rory Carr this cup would have been Letterkenny’s.
