Samsung’s newly launched flagship phones- Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge are now available for purchase in India. The Galaxy S7 with a 5.1-inch screen size comes at a price of Rs 48,900 while the 5.5-inch S7 Edge will cost buyers Rs 56,900.The phones can be purchased from local stores, Samsung’s official online store and e-commerce platform Flipkart. The Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge are Samsung’s top-of-the-line Galaxy S phones for the year 2016-17.The company is also offering a free Gear VR with the phones for those who pre-booked them during March 8- 17.Much alike its predecessors, both Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge come with glass and metal design. The Galaxy S7 sports a curved 2.5D glass, while the Galaxy S7 Edge has a screen that curves on two sides. Both the phones are equipped with a microSD card slot for expandable storage and are powered by the Exynos 8890 processor clubbed with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage.While the Galaxy S7 uses a 3,000mAh battery, the Galaxy S7 Edge has a bigger 3,600mAh battery. Both the phones support wireless and quick charging technologies. Both the phones come with IP68 certification which makes them dust-proof and water-resistant over 1.5 metres and up to 30 minutes. On the camera front, both the phones come with a 12-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front camera.Samsung had unveiled both the phones at Mobile World Congress 2016 held in Barcelona, Spain.
