Nova Scotians are reminded to hike with caution and obey trail closure signs during the long weekend and in the coming months. Tropical Storm Noel has caused damage to some provincial parks and along trails, some of which are closed as a safety precaution. Closed signs have been posted to forbid access to trails in Blomidon Provincial Park and Five Islands Provincial Park. The Department of Natural Resources is working to assess damage to trail systems at other provincial parks. Caution is advised on all sites and signs will be posted to warn of dangers where appropriate.
